Lowrance Anglers Take Five of Top 10 Spots

Tulsa, Okla. – Lowrance®, a world-leader in fishing electronics since 1957, dominated the 2018 Forrest Wood Cup on Lake Ouachita in Arkansas with five anglers finishing in the top 10. Clent Davis, a Lowrance FLW Tour Pro, got the win with 15 bass totaling 36 pounds, 13 ounces.

Davis’ win came after edging into the top 10 by just one ounce on the second day of the tournament, and he credits his Lowrance HDS Carbon 12 as an integral part of catapulting from tenth to the top spot.

“I don’t believe that I just won this,” said Davis. “I knew that the only way that I was going to win this week was fishing brush piles. I did it with the Lowrance Point-1 antenna and my HDS Carbon 12’s, I found them [bass] all idling around in pre-practice out here with my HDS-12’s. They are so good—you can tell ‘this is a 3-pounder, this is a 5-pounder.’ It’s that good.”

Four other Lowrance Pros contended strongly throughout the tournament to land in the top 10. Nick LeBrun finished fourth, while Wes Logan, John Cox, Brandon Cobb, and Bradford Beavers took seventh through tenth place, respectively.

Among the top 10 finishers in the FLW Cup, 60 percent used Lowrance HDS fishfinders — more than any other electronics brand combined. Among the entire FLW Cup field, Lowrance commanded the scene with 48 percent usage.

Davis won the $300,000 top prize of the tournament, which featured 56 of the top bass-fishing anglers in the world. The Forrest Wood Cup was hosted by the Arkansas Department of Parks and Tourism and Hot Springs Resort in Hot Springs, Arkansas.
