Newport, R.I. – Newport Exhibition Group, owners and producers of the Newport International Boat Show (NIBS), announced today show information for those planning on attending the 49th annual Show September 12-15, 2019. One of the largest in-water shows in the country, and the kick-off to the boat show season, NIBS will host exhibitors from around the world with an exceptional assortment of boats of every type and style, plus a variety of accessories, equipment, electronics, gear and services for boaters.

The landscape along America’s Cup Avenue and Commercial Wharf has recently been transformed with the construction of the new Hammetts Wharf Hotel. However, the location of the hotel required show producers to re-fresh and modify the tent and land displays that were once in its present locale. There is no impact on in-water space, in fact there are expansions to the north and south sides of the Newport Yachting Center to accommodate the growing number of boats. For attendee purposes, all portions of the show are still connected and within walking distance of each other – the show has essentially shifted north toward the Newport Harbor Hotel & Marina.

“We have expanded and modified the show layout to accommodate our tents and exhibitors while keeping everything within walking distance,” said Nancy Piffard, show director. “This year, in addition to all the latest and greatest boats and marine products on display at the Newport Yachting Center, plan to walk north toward Bannister’s and Bowen’s Wharves to all the additional exhibits now at Market Square and Newport Harbor Hotel and Marina.”

The Show Office and Will Call window is located at the new Market Square entrance to the show – in front of the Seamen’s Church Institute.

Below is a list of land adjustments:

Tent C is located at Newport Harbor Hotel and Marina (NHHM) at the intersection of America’s Cup Avenue and Market Square.
Market Square, which runs perpendicular to America’s Cup Avenue, will be the main entrance into the show with tented land exhibits and home to the Show Office and Will Call window.
Bowen’s Wharf center lot will be NIBS land displays.
Tent A, which sits in front of The Mooring Restaurant, has doubled in size – taking up the entire lot.
Tent B has been extended and will be dedicated to engines, engine accessories, and marine services.
Tents D & G are in the same location as in the past at the Newport Yachting Center site.

Safety fencing will surround and contain the Hotel construction project.

The best place to park for attending the Show is at Easton’s Beach, located at 175 Memorial Blvd, Newport. Parking is $25 per vehicle and continuous shuttle service to and from the boat show site (approximately 1.6 miles) is available complimentary with the parking space. The parking lot and the shuttle service runs 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily. A parking pass for the Easton’s Beach lot can be purchased at the beach entrance or in advance online – parking passes purchased online must be ordered at least 24 hours in advance. Handicapped parking and shuttle service are available at the Easton’s Beach lot, as well.

To avoid Newport traffic, showgoers can also park in Jamestown, Rhode Island and take the Jamestown/Newport Ferry to the Show. There is a free shuttle from Jamestown parking lots to the ferry terminal. The ferry drops-off and picks-up at Perrotti Park – which is within walking distance to the Show. Round-trip fares are $26 for adults. Tickets to the Show can also be purchased at the Jamestown Ferry terminal or on the ferry itself. Visit jamestownnewportferry.com/schedules/2019-fall-operating-schedule/ for the ferry schedule.

Additionally, the Seastreak Ferry Company offers Providence to Newport ferry service. Parking at the ferry terminal in Providence is free and there is complimentary shuttle bus service between the Providence train station, convention center, downtown and the Providence to Newport ferry terminal. The Providence to Newport ferry drops-off and picks-up at Perrotti Park. Round-trip fares are $22 for adults.
