Canton, GA – ePropulsion Americas, the global leader in marine electric propulsion systems and services, announced today that its revolutionary Pod Drive 3.0 Evo electric solution will be featured on Zonda Yachts Z28 sailing vessel, during its debut at the Annapolis Sailboat Show.

Building on the success of being named the 2024 Boat of the Year by Sailing World with the Z24 featuring the ePropulsion Spirit electric motor, the Z28 featuring the Pod Drive 3.0 Evo will be entered into consideration for this year’s Boat of the Year Award.

“We’re very excited to unveil ePropulsion’s Pod Drive 3.0 Evo to the U.S. market in tandem with ZONDA Yachts’ new Z28 sailboat,” said Tom Watson, president of ePropulsion Americas. “ZONDA Group has a reputation for crafting some of the best sailing vessels in Argentina and we’re thrilled to partner with them on this project. ePropulsion’s Pod Drive offers the perfect silent, environmentally-friendly and space-conscious propulsion solution to the Z28.”

The Pod Drive Evo line from ePropulsion is a light-duty marine propulsion system that eliminates shafts. Offered in three models – 1kW, 3kW and 6kW – the direct-drive Pod Drive requires minimal cabin space and operates without any noise. To provide further versatility, folding props are available upon request. Powered by the ePropulsion 48V E-Series lithium iron phosphate battery the Pod Drive 3.0 Evo has a half speed runtime of 4 hours and can run at full speed for an hour. With innovative hydrogeneration capability, the Pod Drive Evo can recharge the battery while under sail. It is available with a number of accessories to customize the user’s experience, and they can be controlled via a top-mount, side-mount or dual controls and include a digital display for real-time monitoring of power, remaining runtime, battery level and voltage. A magnetic kill switch provides added safety, and it includes an intuitive electric start button.

The Z28 with the Pod Drive 3.0 Evo will be on display at the 2025 Annapolis Sailboat Show, October 9-12, on Dock F2.
