The Floating Flame was founded by serial entrepreneur Ben Caya, after purchasing a unit from the original designer, before they shut down. Following a number of other projects in various industries, Caya brought his entrepreneurial spirit and engineering background to redevelop the original design based on his years of using it as a customer himself. Since its introduction, Floating Flame has grown exponentially, shipping units to customers across the U.S. and Canada.
“This is the most fun project I’ve been a part of,” said Ben Caya, founder of Floating Flame. “I began as a customer when I bought the original boat fire pit almost eight years ago and it remains one of my favorite purchases. When I realized the original creator had shut down operations, I reached out to reboot the business. Taking my years of actual use with the product, I went back to the drawing board to reimagine what a 2.0 version could like look. The Floating Flame is intuitive to fire up, with a simple dial control just like a grill and features a smokeless design free of ashes, sparks and odor.
